The King 2B Silver Sonic is one of the most storied small bore tenor trombones in existence, offering a sound and response that has been meeting the needs of trombonists since the 1940s.  This particular 2B Silver Sonic fits right in the middle of the most highly regarded production period for this model and plays like it!  This is a trombone that has seen some use but is still in great playing shape.  The bell lacquer has a bit of clouding and some light scratching and wear but the bell itself does not have any evidence of repaired dings or dents.  The tuning slide has a few small dents (that can be easily removed) and the neckpipe has an expected about of lacquer wear and very small pitting.  The handslide action is 9+/10; there is very minimal lacquer wear on the contact points; it looks like at least one outer tube may have been replaced but the crook does not show any redrot evidence and the inner tubes have no plating wear.

  This 2BSS has the classic vintage 2B feel, with a blow that is more open then the bore size would lead one to believe; it has a nice warmth at lower dynamics without becoming overly dark and spread and at upper dynamics it projects well, with the tonal stability the sterling silver is known for while still having the ability to brighten the timbre when it is pushed.  Comes with King square hardcase.
